Rotten
O'Gairn is a wood planted on the gentle slopes of Gairn
Hill. The main tree species are beech, Scots pine, larch
and spruce, though there are also other species present.
A waymarked circular walk leads out from the car park,
and a waymarked horse route provides access to the northern
part of this wood.
Rotten O'Gairn wood joins onto Countesswells wood, allowing
longer walks for those with a keen sense of direction
- or a map!
How to get there:
If driving on the A944, turn south along
the unclassified road at the Kingswells roundabout,
turn right at the T-junction, follow the road for roughly
2 km then the forest car park is sign posted on your
right.
If you are driving on the A93, turn north along the
unclassified road north at the junction beside Bieldside
church, turn left at the T-junction, follow the road
for roughly 1.5 km then the forest car park is sign
posted on your right.
