Known as "the Friendly Games" they are always held on the 4th Saturday in August, rain or shine, at Strathdon in Aberdeen-shire. The 2003 Games were on Saturday, 23rd August. Personalities who attend often include Billy Connelly who has the house "Candacraig" at Strathdon. His guests include Robin Williams and Steve Martin. 

The event has its own coat of arms and motto in Gaelic. Recent years have been the most successful ever in its 160-year history.
